With winter coming to a close, it is a perfect time to begin looking ahead to your spring landscape and potential issues. False Chinch Bugs are a common problem during Arizona springs that you may help to mitigate now. These small bugs can become a large nuisance if they begin to inhabit your yard.
In order to help reduce the likelihood of attracting these unwelcome visitors, you should remove all mustard family weeds, such as the London Rocket, from your yard. The False Chinch feeds on weeds in this family and will be growing in population as we enter the early spring.
With the wet winter this season, weed growth has surged, so even if you have not had Chinch issues in the past, many landscapes across the Valley will be more prone this season.
If you do not plan to remove the weeds by hand, please consult your local home store for weed treatment product recommendations specific to your landscape’s needs.
