Why did you decide to run for the Board?
I was active with the Neighborhood Advisory Committee shortly after arriving, and I enjoy connecting with the community, helping where possible. I was interested in helping make the transition from the developer-controlled Board, as I had previously served on a transition board. I have enjoyed my first year and look forward to the next!
What do you bring to the table as a Board member?
As a leader, I am skilled as a mediator and at working toward consensus and compromise.
What do you hope to accomplish as a Board member?
This year, I hope to see the strategic plan finalized and implemented. I am anxious to see the Landscape Committee continue its work toward tweaking the management of the extensive greenbelts so we manage them as effectively as possible. As part of the strategic plan, the Board has begun working with the management team toward a higher standard of consistency in enforcing the CC&Rs, so enforcement is not only fair but also equitable from neighborhood to neighborhood.
What is the best part of living in the Village at Vistancia?
Definitely the sense of community and having neighbors who watch out for each other. I love the activities for all ages.
What are the biggest challenges facing the Vistancia Village A Community Association?
By far, I believe it's keeping the momentum for our community so we keep the “village vitality.” Secondly, maintaining and enhancing our common areas and facilities to the highest standards.
